We Built a Giant Comp out of Pennies. Lots and Lots of Pennies.

My art director and I really wanted to sell AT&T on the idea of putting up an OOH board with an image made from actual pennies. So we naively thought, "Let's just build our own smaller scale version. I mean, how hard could it really be?" Not only did we have to find thousands of pennies, but we had to separate them by color into 18 different categories. And the ones that didn't quite match, we airbrushed. Then we spent about 30 hours carefully gluing each penny to a reinforced piece of foam core. Much to our surprise, it actually turned out pretty cool.

Did AT&T buy off on the idea? No. Did we both end up experiencing large amounts of intense knee pain? Yes.
